Whether you are planning a family reunion, family camping trip, or a picnic, the Virginia Mountains have everything you need to get-together.
This park offers three shelters for
rent through the Reservations Center at 1-800-933-PARK. They can be
rented from 8am to 10pm (all day), or 8am to 2pm or 3pm to 10pm (half
days). Shelter 3 is large and can be rented in two separate sections.
All shelters are available April 1-October 31;at other times they
are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Shelter amenities
include charcoal grill, picnic tables, electrical outlets, fireplace,
lights and access to restrooms. Park activities include swimming,
camping, cabin rentals, boat rentals, hiking, visitor center, gift
shop, and restaurant (see catering options below).

The picnic area is next to a rebuilt homestead site, complete with two log cabins, a spring house and a cane mill. Picnic facilities include drinking water, grills and restrooms. Picnic shelters are available by reservation by calling the Reservation Center at 1-800-933-PARK. Two shelters are available for rent. They can be rented from 8am to 10pm (all day), or 8am to 3pm or 3pm to 10pm (half day).
Shelter one is located in the main picnic area. A water fountain and
electric hookup is available. Shelter can accommodate 100 people under
the shelter. Seating for an additional 100 people is available around
the shelter.
Shelter two is located next to homestead cabin, and is also referred
to as the Barn. No adjacent parking is available. Shelter can accommodate
up to 100 people underneath and seating for another 100 is available
around the shelter.
Park activities include, camping, hiking, biking, and horse trails, fishing, visitor center, and gift shop. The park is adjacent to the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area.

Founded in 1987 to honor and preserve
the heritage of this area, the Settler's Museum is a true community
center. The facility includes a picnic shelter with electricity and
a source of clean water, public restrooms, plenty of room for activities
of your choosing, and a horseshow pit. Group use of the shelter is

Hungry
Mother State Park
Hungry Mother State Park offers 25
cabins available for rent which can accommodate 2 to 6 people. Cabins
21-25 are located within the Hemlock Haven Conference Center. Amenities
include kitchen appliances, living area with sofa and dining table,
picnic tables, free swimming and boat launch,fireplaces, and more.

The
Lodge at Hungry Mother State Park

Mount
Rogers National Recreation Area
Three cabins are available through
the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area. The Blue Springs Gap Cabin
is located on a mountaintop near Sugar Grove, VA (Camp). Bird watching,
hiking and fishing are nearby. There are three cozy bedrooms, a kitchen,
and living room with a huge fireplace. Electricity and flush toilet

Highland
Creek Cabin
Highland Creek Cabin is nestled in the mountains of the Jefferson National Forest in southwest Virginia. Built in 1949 from native chestnut logs, it combines rustic charm and solitude with all the modern amenities.

Cabin
in the Blue Ridge
