Travel through time at the Museum of the Middle Appalachians! Learn about the unique geology of the region and how it has helped to shape American history.

View full-sized replicas of Ice Age mammals that roamed the area thousands of years ago. Museum exhibits showcase local remains recovered in the Saltville Valley.

View Native American artifacts from the earliest Paleo through the Woodland cultures. Saltville was the site of a large late Woodland village.

Learn about salt production from the earliest times through the chemical production era. Find out how salt production continues today. See the highlights of Saltville's "company town" era.

Visit the museum store, which features books, stoneware, and educational merchandise for all ages. The museum houses an extensive collection of historical photos that document area history.
